Concealed carry classes

These classes are designed for the mature adult who has decided to take their life and safety into their own hands and apply for a concealed firearms permit. Classes include instruction on federal and state laws and facts that the student needs to know regarding county laws. Issues of safety are stressed, and thoroughly discussed during instruction, as well as the legal issues that a student will face in exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.

A student need not already possess a handgun to enroll, as samples of specific firearms which are available to the general public are used during these classes. This helps the student make an informed choice regarding a pistol for carry. Range time for familiarization with these pistols is also a part of this instruction.

These classes are a prerequisite in order to apply for a concealed firearms permit by Oregon State law. At the classes conclusion, a card sponsored by the NRA is issued to each registered student. This card meets the state criteria for documentation of a firearms safety class.

Rates:

Group rates of 4 students or more. $45.00 per head.

3 students or less. $55.00 per head.

Ammo in the quantity of one full load per pistol is provided for familiarization of handguns. Reloads for further practice is available at reasonable rates.

Combat shooting classes

These classes are designed to give the student the tools necessary for using a handgun in a life threatening situation. It includes the practice of the presentation (the draw) and different techniques that can be used in combat shooting. These classes are tailored to the individuals needs. As such they can be involved as the student requires. The student is encouraged to provide their own equipment, however some equipment may be rented at reasonable rates.

Rates:

One to three students: $35.00 per hour.

Ammo is extra. Reloads are available at reasonable rates, however the student is expected to provide his/her own ammo. Please contact Sandy Gun Works for further information.
